2. A next step would be to check the library catalog for books about your topic. You can view the library catalog from anywhere within the school. Searching by SUBJECT or KEYWORD, you may find books about your topic. Once you view a library record for a particular book, you may also find useful websites included for that subject. Be sure to check book locations by clicking "Copies in" : ML - Main Library; LS - Lower School Library
3. An excellent way to find articles in magazines and newspapers is to access our periodical databases. In particular, you may want to look at the Science Resource Center, a database containing articles from scientific periodicals. It is possible to find articles by entering a subject, and then selecting a relevant article from the list of choices. Most of these databases allow you to print or email articles that you find. You must enter your email user name and password in order to gain access to the following resources. Other places to look are:
Electric Library - contains articles from newspapers, magazines, books, maps, and indexes pictures and televison and radio transcripts
ProQuest - indexes thousands of journals, magazines, and newspapers, including The New York Times
EBSCO Host - is another database which indexes magazines and newspapers.
InfoTrac Junior, K-12 - indexes magazines, newspapers, and reference books.
4. Be
sure to include any articles you find in your bibliography. Use the MLA format your
teachers have provided to help you cite your sources.
