1. In order to find information about famous French people, you can start looking in an encyclopedia for a short article. You can use the print encyclopedias in the reference room. We have the following sets available. You can begin by looking in the index volume for the last name of the person you are researching:
Academic American
Collier's Encyclopedia
Compton's Encyclopedia
Encyclopedia Americana
Encyclopedia Britannica
World Book Encyclopedia
2. You may also use our online encyclopedias to find information, which you can access from the Library's database page. You will have to enter your email user name and password in order to have access to the encyclopedias.
3. Another source you can use is Gale's Biography Resource Center. This bigoraphy database can also be accessed from the Library's database page.
4. Don't forget to list the sources you have used in your bibliography. Use the Library's Bibliographic Format guide to help you.
