ANCIENT EGYPT1. When you start to research a subject, a good place to start is a general encyclopedia. Using the index, you can locate the volume and pages where you can find information on your topic. For ancient Egypt, you would look up "Egypt, Ancient" and there would be many sub-topics about ancient Egypt that you could read about. Packer's Main Library has several print encyclopedias you can use:

World Book Encyclopedia
2. If you have internet access from home, you can use our online encyclopedias. There is a section for encyclopedias where you can choose Britannica Online or Grolier Online (includes Encyclopedia Americana, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, and The New Book of Knowledge. You can search these encyclopedias by typing in "Ancient Egypt".

4. Your teachers and librarian will help select books from the shelves that you can use to research your topic about ancient Egypt. You can also look in the library's catalog from anywhere in the school to find books you can use.
